Varvar - Ghost Elephant (Caol Ila & Oloroso Sherry Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout)

The second, highly-anticipated release of Ghost Elephant. This monumental Imperial Stout has been matured in exceptional casks that previously held Caol Ila - the legendary peated Scotch whisky from the Isle of Islay. Uniquely, these specific barrels also housed noble Oloroso Sherry before the whisky, adding a layer of sophisticated sweetness to the smoky profile.
Expect a complex, multi-layered experience. The aroma leads with delicate peat smoke, hints of iodine, and sea salt, typical of Islay, followed by the rich, dark fruit notes of prunes and raisins from the Sherry influence. The mouthfeel is incredibly smooth and balanced, leading to a deep, lingering finish of aged oak and dark chocolate.
